Profile

A multi-purpose stadium located in south Kolkata, the Rabindra Sarobar Stadium will be the new home of Season 1 winners Atlético de Kolkata after first two editions at the Salt Lake Stadium. Established in 1961, it serves as the home stadium for Tollygunge Agragami in the Calcutta Premier Division. It is capable of accommodating 22,000 spectators and is set to be renovated by the AIFF to meet international standards ahead of the upcoming 2017 FIFA World Cup under-17 as it might be allocated a few matches. Amongst memorable events to have taken place in the stadium, Russian Astronaut Yuri Gagarin, first human to journey into outer space, was granted a great reception here, while Emil Zatopek, one of the greatest athletes of all time, was also hosted here.
